Valentines

I had already decided to BUY valentines for my daughter this year and when I "stumbled" upon this cute little heart template and had to give it a try.  They were SO EASY to make that I went ahead and made up a bunch for my daughter to use this year.  I glued each completed heart to a small heart doily (my friend gave me a little stash of them last year sometime, and they needed using!) and embossed "To:" on the bottom panel....that's it...they were so simple and quick to make.

The only "bad" thing about them is that pocket at the bottom isn't big enough to hold things in very well.  It works o.k., but since it is pointed it really needs to be bigger in order to keep the sweets from falling out.
BUT it works great for a heart shaped tag (see below). You could always enlarge the pattern to make the pocket bigger if you want to include more goodies.
I decided to experiment with the extra one I made and see how it would look fancied up a bit......I wouldn't want to go to all this trouble for ALL of them, but one or two isn't so bad.
I glued vintage lace around the outside of this one and then used my MS heart border punch to made another lacy looking border.  Also attached a rolled rose to the one side.  The tag on the right fits neatly inside the little heart pocket.
So....if you've procrastinated in making this years valentines -- here's a simple and easy creation for you OR there's always next year to try out the Heart Pocket Valentine!
