Cornmeal Muffins

I have looked for and tested several recipes before finding a cornmeal muffin that tasted just right to me.  After altering a recent recipe from the Southern Lady magazine I finally found what I was looking for....sorta sweet, not too crumbly, moist cornmeal muffins!  Here's my recipe:
Cornmeal Muffins
2 cups flour
2/3 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into pieces
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease each cup of a 12 cup muffin pan with softened butter.
In a medium bowl, combine dry ingredients and cut in 1/2 cup cold butter with a pastry blender till mixture is crumbly.  Add sour cream and milk - mix well.  Spoon batter into muffin cups and bake for 30 minutes.
I top mine with butter and blackberry jam -- YUM!
Enjoy!

People from the South really know how to cook. I found the best biscuit recipe last week and it was southern. Unfortunately it also had a ridiculous amount of butter in it ;)

Oh yay! I love cornmeal muffins and these sound delicious! Perfect because I just got fresh raw honey from my Farmers Market yesterday and I wanted to make a treat that I could put some on! Thanks! I'm printing your recipe out now!
