Patriotic Button Card

Today I'm sharing a patriotic card I made using Papertrey Ink's Button Boutique stamp set and the Sizzix 3D Flowers die!

Supplies and Tools:
Button Boutique (Papertrey Ink), Black Soot/Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink (Tim Holtz), 3D Flowers Die (Sizzix), Felt, Pearls, Deep Edge Punch (Martha Stewart), Blue/Red Glitter Washi Tape, Mini Star Punch (EK Success), America Collection Stamp Set (Amy Design)

Garden Pots

Today I'm sharing two cards I created with tiny flower pot gardens on them! For both cards, I started with watercolor paper and lightly painted a blue background across the top with salty ocean distress ink. The flower pots came from this coloring page and were printed on dark orange cardstock. I sponge around the edges with rusty hinge/vintage photo distress ink to make them look a bit more realistic.
To create my geraniums, I punched a pile of tiny blooms with my scalloped daisy border punch (Fiskars) and glued them to a punched circle. I added a tiny dot to the centers with my white gel pen. For this first card, I also tore some brown paper and added it as dirt across the top of my pots, and added a little garden spider to the corner.
For my second card, I broke out my stash of Flower Soft and created some pretty stems to tuck into my pots. (Here's a great tutorial for creating these stems.)
I'm not sure how well the picture shows it, but I used my bone folder to bend my pots for added dimension.
Supplies and Tools:
Salty Ocean/Black Soot/Rusty Hinge/Vintage Photo/Fired Brick/Abandoned Coral/Mowed Lawn Distress Ink (Tim Holtz), Burlap Twine, Watercolor paper, Frond Punch (Martha Stewart), Decorative Doilies Stamps (Inkadinkado), Summer/Fuchsia/Sweet Pea Flower Soft, Mums the Word stamp set, Scalloped Daisy Border Punch (Fiskars), White Gel Pen, Patterned Bugs (Inkadinkado), Flights of Fancy (Tim Holtz), Inside sentiment (Studio G)

I created my tiny nest out of burlap string and added three tiny pearls for eggs! Isn't it darling?

Vintage Bird from Graphics Fairy, Hyper Magical Embossing Folder (Couture Creations), Tiny Tattered Florals Die (Tim Holtz), Vintage Photo/Salty Ocean/Fossilized Amber/Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink (Tim Holtz), Strip of Burlap, Old Sheet Music, Burlap String, Pearls, Nouveau Alphabet Dies (Sizzix), Paper Distresser, Ink Applicator, Scripture Stamp (Blue Ridge Impressions)

Farmhouse Chalkboard

Today’s project showcases one of the Mix The Media Chalkboards available in the Cropstop store! There are three sizes available and they’re great for: photo frames, message boards or as a decorative mixed media piece. I chose to decorate mine in a farmhouse style. (To view a mini tutorial I created for making your own coffee stained paper, visit the Cropstop blog.)
To begin with, I used a white paint marker and drew a frame all the way around my chalkboard. Across the bottom I added a some Petaloo lace from the Teastained Red set and the Cream Burlap Trims set. A decorative wooden button adorns the center of the twine bow.  Next, I printed a sheep (from Graphics Fairy) on coffee stained paper and added a mini clothespin. I cut a tag (using the Sizzix Tags die) and distressed the edges with ground espresso distress ink and the ink applicator.  I decorated the tag with a beautiful burlap flower (Petaloo) and vellum “14” from the Tim Holtz Thrift Shop Ephemera pack.

I dyed my seam binding with salty ocean distress ink so everything would coordinate and match! Inside I printed the FREE Scripture printable from Word Art Wednesday and stamped over it with a small daisy stamp from Stampabilities.

Supplies and Tools:
Power Poppy Gerbera Daisies, Watercolor paper, Prismacolor Pencils, Baby Oil (for blending), White Gel Pen, Sharpie Marker, Tiny Pearls, Clear Glitter, Tag Die (Sizzix), Mixed Media #3 Dies (Tim Holtz), Crackle Background (Stampin' Up), Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Tim Holtz), Sunny Flower - Friend Sentiment (Stampendous), Patterned Bugs (Inkadinkado), Seam Binding, Labels 8 Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Washi Tape, Word Art Wednesday Freebie, Small Gerbera Daisy (Stamabilities)

Ahoy - Embossed Embossing

Today I have a nautical themed masculine card to share with you that includes a fun way to mixing your dry embossing with your wet embossing. (For complete instructions on this fun technique - visit the Cropstop blog.)
After I created my shimmering background, I inked up the front panel with white pigment ink. I then ran my Paper Distresser along the edges, and attached it to the front of my card using my ATG gun. Next I stamped my Postcard stamp (Hampton Art) in Vintage Photo Distress Ink and added a sailboat image  (Set Sail – Stampin’ Up) in Blueprint Sketch DI. After distressing the edges I used my Tim Holtz Ink Applicator to blend in some ink for a vintage look. I added an old stamp to the postcard and tied a tiny nautical knot around the front using natural burlap string.  The postcard is layered over a globe (from World Travels — stamped in ground espresso), and tiny gears accent both the top and bottom. The sentiment is cut with the Rat a Tat Sizzix alphabet set and stamped with a linen stamp in Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Inside I used my stencil brushes and a burlap stencil (Tim Holtz) with two colors of distress ink: Vintage Photo and Brushed Corduroy. I stamped a sentiment from the All Things Are Possible set (Heartfelt Creations) in Chipped Sapphire and used my Prismacolor pencils to color in certain parts of it.
I’d love to see the masculine cards you’ve been creating so stop by the CURRENT CHALLENGE and link up any projects that use products from companies Cropstop carries in the store! I’ll look for you there….

Core'dinations Cardstock

Today I’m sharing a card I made using some of the Core’dinations Cardstock.  “Sand it; tear it; or antique it… these are only a few ideas of what you can do with this wonderful paper. Each sheet has a wonderful canvas texture that can be sanded  (with the sand-it gadget) to reveal a coordinating core color.
To create my card I chose a piece of light blue cardstock from the Core’dinations Pastel paper pack. I embossed it with Chiaro Embossing folder from Couture Creations and lightly sanded the top. Next I rubbed a bit of salty ocean distress ink over parts of it using my ink applicator. I used a corner rounder punch on the bottom of the card – just to give it a little different look.
I stamped a sentiment from All Things Are Possible (Heartfelt Creations) in broken china distress ink onto a white strip of paper. I added a pretty flower die cut with the Exquisite Poppy dies from Creative Expressions. I inked the edges of my flower with fossilized amber distress ink. The leaves were die cut using the Flower Petals Sizzix die and inked with pine needles distress ink. A strip of pretty lace and a natural burlap string bow complete the front of my card.
Inside I used the Lace stencil (Tim Holtz), distress inks, and stencil brushes to add a some pretty doily motifs to the corners.
I’d love to see how you use core’dination paper on your projects so stop by the CURRENT CHALLENGE and link up your creations that use products from companies Cropstop carries! Happy Crafting…..

Box of Sunshine

I recently  made up a "Box of Sunshine" to send to someone dear to me going through a pretty rough time right now.
I used free printables (linked below) to decorate the inside of the box and printed off a bunch of yellow sunshine faces to tuck in among the gifts.
Everything inside is in the happy shade of yellow! Hope it brightens their day and brings a little cheer to their lives!

Floral Watercolor Cards

I recently found some beautiful (free for personal use) watercolor printables from On Sutton Place.
I printed several of them out on watercolor paper and trimmed them to fit the front of kraft cards.
Next, I distressed all the edges, and inked them using Antique Linen Distress ink and my ink applicator.
To finish them off, I stamped a simple sentiment across the front, and added a burlap string bow to the flower arrangement.
Very simple, but oh so pretty! Printing on watercolor paper really sets them off, and I'll enjoy using them to send notes to friends!
