Watercolor Flower

When I saw the challenge theme over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week was "Watercolor," I knew I wanted to play along. I recently bought some watercolor paper and have been experimenting with using Distress Inks to create water color looks!
To create this card, I lightly stamped my images in Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper. Then I stamped my chosen colors (blues, greens, yellows, and oranges) on my desk top and added a bit of water to make "paint." Next I painted and blended the colors together over the stamped image till I had something I was happy with.  After the watercolors dried, I re-stamped my images in black ink over top of the watercoloring and then added some spatters of blue ink.
Here you can see how I water-colored two flowers and used dimensionals to pop one up off the card.
I had so much fun creating this!  Don't be surprised if you see more water-color creations in the future!
Supplies and Tools:
Choose Happiness (Stampin' Up), Patterned bugs (Inkadinkado), Doilies (Little Yellow Bicycle), Tall Watercolor Flower (Hampton Arts), Circular Grid Embossing Folder (Anna Griffin), Watercolor Paper, Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Mowed Lawn, Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Antique Linen), Mini Mister, Sequins, Die Cut Sentiment (Momento), Polk-a-dot ribbon

I think I like watercoloring with distress ink the best, you did a fantastic job with the coloring on this one, I love the dimension and splattering of the background, I always forget to do that :)
