Playing with Gesso

Designing for Cropstop has  inspired me to think outside the box, branch out, and try new techniques and products! Today's card features my first experience with Gesso -- I think I'm hooked!
I laid the burlap stencil from Tim Holtz on a piece of kraft cardstock and applied the gesso over top. When I removed the stencil I had this great background that I heat set with my embossing gun. I love the texture it adds to the card, and I can guarantee you'll be seeing more Gesso projects in the future!!
Supplies and Tools:
Kraft/White Cardstock, Gesso, Burlap Stencil (Tim Holtz), Tattered Florals Die (Tim Holtz), Mowed Lawn/Fossilized Amber Distress Ink, Old Book Page, Ribbon, Lace, Sequins

I love the Gesso on this card. It is a great background for that single daisy. Reminds me of Spring. Thanks for joining us at the Mod Squad Challenge. Good luck!

Gorgeous tag card, I love your background and the way you folded the flower, cool stem and lovely touch of lace.

My daughter uses Gesso for her oil painting projects. I've never tried to heat set Gesso on paper, sounds like an interesting project! The background it made looks amazing! Great job!
