Bunny Shape Card

Anyone else in the mood for spring and Easter? I saw these fun little 3D cardboard bunnies (on Creative "Try:als) and decided to use the free template to create some fun bunny shaped cards.

I started by tracing the main bunny body onto vintage dictionary pages and inking all the edges with walnut stain distress oxide.

Next I traced and cut out the extra pieces, inked the edges, and popped them up with mounting foam over the main bunny.

To finish off the front: I added a pearl eye, pretty green & white polk-a-dot bow, and one sweet little butterfly.

For the inside I created a sentiment using Graciellie's "Friends Like You" for the background and layering a sentiment from "In Christ Alone" over the top. I cut out a few tiny butterflies from the butterfly border punch (Martha Stewart) to add a little extra dimension.

Since my bunny shaped cards won't fit in a standard A2 sized envelope, I used Lori Hairston's simple and easy tutorial to create custom/matching enclosures. I started with a 12 x 12 piece of designer paper, but it still wasn't quite wide enough to meat in the middle. There wasn't quite enough to do the panel like Lori did, so I created a decorative lace strip in white to finish off my envelopes. The sticker is stamped with a background stamp from the Pattern Trio set (Stampendous) in seedless preserves. I added a punched butterfly as an accent.
