Celebrate

It's time for our Wednesday challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week's challenge is a favorite of everyone - Anything Goes! Since Independence Day is right around the corner (here in the USA) I decided to create something patriotic for this week.

To create this card I:
  • Dropped Ultramarine Blue and Alizarian Crimson Color Burst (Ken Oliver) onto Watercolor Paper
  • I spritzed it with water and heat set it
    • I re-wet it a couple times to get the color intensity I was wanting
  •  I stamped the 9014-M, Fireworks stamp in Versamark watermark ink, added silver tinsel embossing powder, and heat set
  • After matting it on red and blue card stock I added a sentiment from the Phrases die set (Spellbinders)
  • To finish off the card I create three little pinwheels with pearl centers

  • For my blog readers: Enjoy the 10% discount code to the Repeat Impressions Store posted on the sidebar
  • There's a new challenge every week over at  The House That Stamps Built
    • you don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps to link or win
  • One lucky person will win a $25 Repeat Impressions Gift Certificate on the first Wednesday of every month

He will sustain you

Today I'm sharing a card I created to CASE one of Helen Gullet's cards on the Stamplorations blog (second one on this page). This is actually my second time to CASE this card -- the first one copied the design layout -- this one keeps the wood background but flips the design sideways.

To create this card I:
  • swiped Brushed Corduroy/Walnut Stain distress ink (Ranger) down a piece of kraft cardstock, spritzed with water, and heat set
    • using my Martha Stewart Scoring Board, I scored lines down my card stock every 3/4 of an inch
    • I inked up my Crackle Background stamp (Stampin' Up) with Walnut Stain Distress Ink (Ranger) and stamped over my panel
    • I added a bit of depth to the scored lines with a Touch Five marker
  • the verse is from He Will Sustain You (Graciellie - Unity Stamp Company) and has the crackle background stamped over it and a faux stitching border (Sharpie Marker) around the edge
  • I die cut some brown card stock with the Beaded Ovals Nestabilites (Spellbinders) and added Opal Liquid Pearls around the edges
  • the flowers are digital stamps from the Together set (Graciellie Designs)
    • I changed their colors to pink and green, printed them, and added some highlights with Prismacolor Pencils
    • I finished off my flowers with Clear Glitter and Baker's Twine bows
  • The center panel is popped up off my card with mounting tape

Happy 4th of July

Since Independence Day is just over a week away, I decided to create a fun  patriotic card to share with you today. When I received the Poppystamps balloon dies in the mail, I knew I wanted to do something "different" with them. So instead of using them to create a birthday themed card, I used them on this bold and bright July 4th card!

For step by step instructions on putting this card together - Visit today's post on the Cropstop blog.

Supplies and Tools:
Embossing: Stars embossing folder (Darice)
Dies/Punches:  Happy Balloons (Memory Box - Poppystamps), Star Punch
Ink: Ultramarine blue/Alizarin Crimson Color Bursts (Ken Oliver), Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink (Ranger)
Misc. Scoring Board (Martha Stewart), Mounting Tape
Stamps: American Collection (Amy Design)

Mini Shape Card

Here's another CASED card from the Stamplorations stampgirls. I loved this card the first time Jessica posted it, and when she included it in her list of past favorites to CASE this month I knew I wanted to give it a whirl.

  • I wasn't sure how to do that glossy striped background, and after several failed attempts I finally hit on something! I inked up a piece of black card stock with Versamark Watermark ink, added black embossing powder, and heat set. I then cut it in strips and added them to my white card front.
  • To create the frame I cut a square inside a square, and added two die cuts from the Hello Doily die set (Sizzix) to two corner. I inked this with Versamark Watermark ink, added yellow embossing powder, and heat set.
  • The flowers are die cut with the Mini Tattered Floral dies (Tim Holtz) and have a tiny pearl in the center.
  • The greenery is punched with two different Martha Stewart punches - branch and frond.
  • I added a little Baker's Twine bow to the corner and a sentiment die cut with the Hello Doily dies (Sizzix).
  • I layered everything on a mini card cut with the Postage Stamp Nestabilites (Spellbinders)

Together

Hello friends, it's time for a new Graciellie Design's digital stamp release. I'm pretty excited about my card today because I've been watching some Youtube videos on coloring with colored pencils and picking up some tips to improve my work. I'm no where NEAR a professional - but I'm having fun learning and practicing with Graciellie digis!

This new set is called "Together" and features some beautifully sketched roses and four new sentiments.

To create this card I:
  • printed my roses from Together on water color paper
  • colored them with Prismacolor Pencils and fussy cut them
  • added a burlap string bow to the center of my flowers
  • created a background with watered down Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide
  • printed a sentiment from the same digital set, fussy cut it, and glued it to the bottom corner

Stamplorations Color Blooms

Today I'm sharing bright and cheery card created with a free Color Blooms sampler page from Stamplorations.  I used this page to CASE Carol's card (below). I love all the pretty blooms on her card and that pretty butterfly!

To create my card I:
  • printed off the free Color Blooms page and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils
  • added some white dots to the petals with a small tip paintbrush and acrylic paint
  • Die cut a black butterfly using the Butterfly Trio die set from Anna Griffin
  • Die cut my sentiment with the Phrases dies from Spellbinders

Friend

It's time for our Wednesday challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we have an inspiration board for you. This challenge is a fun cross between a photo challenge and a color challenge. You can choose to be inspired by the colors, the photograph, or both!

For some reason I had trouble creating with this board. I love both the colors and the floral section and set out to incorporate both. After several failed attempts to turn out anything I liked, I finally gave up and chose to use just the color pallete.

To create my card I:
  • Applied Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, and Scattered Straw Distress Ink through a Recollections stencil
  • Punched a thin strip of paper lace using the Embroidery Border Punch from Martha Stewart
  • Added a piece of homemade crinkle ribbon over top, tied in a bow
  • Stamped the 9009-F, Butterfly (sm)in Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink, fussy cut, and added two pearls to the center
  • Stamped a sentiment from Plate 9900 in Tuxedo Black Ink (Memento)

  • For my blog readers: Enjoy the 10% discount code to the Repeat Impressions Store posted on the sidebar

Using Digital Papers

Today I'm sharing a different kind of card with you -- a fully decorated, tri-fold card that uses Graciellie Design's Pink and Blue Watercolor Digital Paper. I cased a card from one of my Graciellie teammates (Helen Gullet) who is also a designer team member over at Stamplorations. I love the design of this card with it's open center and large sentiment!

Most of the embellishments come from fussy cutting the floral designs from the digital papers and layering them with foam mounting tape.

I also added some tiny pearls to the flower centers and a few through-out the card (like on the vellum overlay on the third page).

To create the tri-fold I:
  • created a regular A2 sized card (4.25 x 5.5 inches) out of white card stock
  • created an extra white panel that measured 4.5 x 5.5 inches
  • scored a line on the extra panel at .25 inch
  • attached my panel to the card via the extra .25 inch

Here's how I decorated this card:
  • I started by typing several verses from I Corinthians 13 into Open Office to create a love themed background for the front of my card (the font is called Great Vibes)
  • After I adhered the text to the front of my card, I traced and hand cut an oval from the center
  • Next, I traced and hand cut a black frame for around my oval
  • I printed one of the floral pages from Graciellie Design's Pink and Blue Watercolor Digital Paper and fussy cut several of the flower arrangements to decorate my oval, popping parts of them up with foam mounting tape
  • Added tiny pearls to the center of the roses

For the next two panels I:
  • Die cut a black piece of card stock with the Beaded Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders) and hand cut the center out
  • Used more of Graciellie's floral arrangements to decorate the edges
  • Added tiny pearls to the centers of the roses
  • Die cut the Praying For You sentiment (Cutplorations) from black card stock and glued it to the center of my page so it would show through the oval

For the third panel I:
  • Stamped the verse (Stampendous) in Tuxedo Black Ink (Memento) on vellum
  •  Added three tiny pearls
  • Punched two holes at the top and tied it to my panel with pink burlap string

For the two panels on the reverse side I:

I hope this card inspires you to try using digital papers - they make creating cards like this easy because all the papers already match and all you have to do is print, cut, and glue!

Embossing Fun

Hello friends! I'm back today to share some embossing fun with you. Today I have a "peachy-pink" card that features wet embossing inside the debossed part of dry embossing!

Not sure where, but recently I've seen a few pink and gold projects and I just love the way those two colors look together. I thought they would look especially elegant with the Tim Holtz Roses embossing folder, and was pleasantly surprised that the small billow flower die matches the folder perfectly!

For step by step instructions on creating this card - Visit today's post on the Cropstop blog. While you're there, link up your current projects that include a product or two from the companies Cropstop carries in the store.
     Supplies and tools:
Dies: Small Billow Flower (Memory Box - Poppystamps), Hello Doily (Sizzix)
Embossing Folder: Roses (Tim Holtz Alterations - Sizzix)
Ink: Tattered Rose Distress Oxide (Ranger), Versamark Watermark, Brilliant Sparkle Gold embossing powder (Cosmic Shimmer)
    Punches: Martha Stewart Border Punch
Ribbon: Crinkle Ribbon created from Hug Snug Seam Binding

    Lumber 3D

I was so excited to be the recent winner over at the Frilly and Funkie challenge. I put my $25 gift certificate to the Funkie Junkie Boutique to good use and today I'm sharing a card I created with  two of my new supplies!

    To create my card I:
    • embossed a piece of kraft card stock with the Lumber 3D folder from Tim Holtz
      • lightly inked over my embossing with Gathered Twigs Distress ink (Ranger) and spritzed with water
      • cut my panel into wood planks and distressed the edges before adhering it to my white card front
    • tied a piece of sparkly gold tulle around the bottom of my card
    • die cut some cream and green vines using the Spellbinders Romantic Vines Die Cut and tucked them behind my tulle
    • die cut two flowers from the Tattered Florals Die (Tim Hotlz)
    • stamped Vintage Text Background Stamp (Wendy Vecchi/Stampers Anonymous) in Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide (Ranger)
    • glued one flower over the other and added a brown button with a burlap string bow in the center
    • added a Tiny Tag (Cuttlebug) stamped with a sentiment from Sunny Flowers (Stampendous) in Walnut Stain Distress Oxide (Ranger)

    Unity Inspiration Blog Hop

Hello blog readers! Tonight I have some exiting news - there are FIVE NEW rubber stamp collections designed by Graciellie Design being released today through the Unity Stamp Company!
Unity is sponsoring a fun blog hop with prizes, so be sure to scroll to the end of this post for the complete list of links to visit.

This first card uses feathers and a sentiment from the  new Hey Friend stamp set. I colored the tips my feathers with Prismacolor Pencils and carefully moved the color up with my blending tool for an ombre effect.

For my second card, I colored my image from Tea Cup Floret with Prismacolor pencils.  I added some lines of cream to my coffee with White Opal Liquid Pearls. The gold rims of both the cup and saucer were created using Gold Stickles.  I die cut and matted my sentiment using a Hero Arts die (Handmade Tags). To create the gold border on my polka-dot designer paper I: masked off the edge, inked it with Versamark Watermark ink, and added gold embossing powder. Four tiny pearls in the top left corner finish off this card.

My third card uses a verse from He will Sustain You and flowers from Blossom and Flourish. I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities (Circle and Scallop circle) to cut and layer my verse - adding a little faux stitching around the edge with a Sharpie Marker.  I colored my flowers with Prismacolor Pencils and added them to the edge of my verse along with some die cut branches (Fall Foliage - Tim Holtz thinlits). The background is a piece of white card stock embossed with the Christmas Quilt Embossing folder from Couture Creations. Some tiny pearls in the corner and flower centers finish off this design.

For my last card I could resist trying to create something masculine with the feathers from Hey Friend. For the background I scored a piece of kraft card stock (Martha Stewart scoring board) every 3/4 inch and swiped Gathered Twigs/Walnut Stain Distress ink down it. I spritzed it with water and heat set. After arranging my dictionary page feathers, I added a burlap string bow and a wooden button. The sentiment is from the same stamp set as the feathers.

Here's a look at all the Graciellie Designs stamp sets being released today!
