Christmas Blessings

Christmas is just around the corner, so today I have a holiday card to share with you using Graciellie's new "Merry Everything" digital stamp set.

This is my first attempt at no-line coloring with pencils/markers --- I'm thinking I should have started with something a little less complicated!

To create my card I:
  • printed the main image on kraft card stock
  • colored the floral spray with Prismacolor Pencils and added highlights with Touchfive Markers and a Gold Gel Pen
  • fussy cut  the image and popped it up with mounting tape over a pink velvet background
  • matted my pink background on a piece of white card stock that I embossed along the edges in Gold Embossing powder
  • printed a sentiment from Merry Everything, die cut it with the Labels 10 Nestabilities (Spellbinders), and inked the edges with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide (Ranger)

Winter Window

Embossing: Brick Embossing Folder (The Paper Studio)
Ink: Fired Brick/Walnut Stain/Pine Needles/Scattered Straw Distress Ink (Ranger)
Misc. Shaving Cream/Glue, Lace

Chickadee at Rest

It's time for our Wednesday challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we have an inspiration board for you. This challenge is a fun cross between a photo challenge and a color challenge. You can choose to be inspired by the colors, the photograph, or both!

To create my card I:
  • stamped 6806-U, Sheet Music in two corners using Walnut Stain Distress Oxide (Ranger)
  • stamped 2708-M, Pine Branch all around my card front in the same ink
  • stamped 211-P, Chickadee at Rest on a piece of white card stock
  • stamped a sentiment from Plate 9900 above the bird
  • die cut my bird using Dotted Ovals (Sizzix dies) and inked the center in the above ink
  • die cut a brown oval and matted it under my white one
  • popped up my main image using foam mounting tape

  • For my blog readers: Enjoy the 10% discount code to the Repeat Impressions Store posted on the sidebar

Gilded Leaf

Today I'm sharing a CAS card that features a beautiful gilded zentangle leaf. I kept it simple for two reason -- 1. holidays are busy and there isn't always a lot of time to craft and 2. to showcase the beautiful designs in that leaf stamp!

Puffy Paint Forest

It's my turn to share a Pick of the Week over on the Repeat Impressions blog.  I decided to share two fun "winter" techniques with you.....1. Creating a forest with only one tree stamp and 2. An old recipe for easy DIY puffy snow.  I ended up making two cards because I went rather light with the snow on the first card and I wanted to see what it would look like if I put it on heavy and added some white glitter to it.

For the recipe for puffy snow and a picture tutorial for creating that one stamp forest.....visit today's post over on The House that Stamps Built. You'll also find a coupon code for 20% off the stamps I used on these two cards - valid for one week only!

Supplies and Tools:
Dies: Miniature Sled (Memory Box), Deer Die (Unknown), Animal Crackers (Cuttlebug), Farm Fence (Honeybee Stamps), bird from Birch Trees (Impression Obsession)
Ink: Pine Needles/Salty Ocean/Broken China/Chipped Sapphire/Mermaid Lagoon/Ground Espresso Distress Ink (Ranger)
Misc. Shaving Cream, Elmer's Glue, White Glitter
Repeat Impressions Stamps:
2220-G, All Is Calm

Hey Lovely

Today I have two cards featuring Graciellie Designs' "Hey Lovely" digital stamp set.

The first one is made entirely using Photoscape filters and borders.  I created an oval  frame with the flowers and added a vintage overlay and scratch filters before attaching the plaid border and printing.

For the second card, I created a larger floral border with the sentiment inside. After printing it on watercolor paper I colored the flowers with Prismacolor pencils and distressed the edges with a pair of scissors.

Rustic Winter Wishes

Oh my, I am soooooo excited about this brand new digital paper pack from Graciellie Designs. It's called Rustic Winter Wishes......and just take a look at how gorgeous these papers are!!

For this first card I combined the papers with Graciellie's Winter Blessing Digital stamp set and Watercolor Vintage Lanterns from Art Creations Design.

I added a bit of green to the pine branches with a prismacolor pencil and sponged some scattered straw distress ink over the candle flames.
The top panel is matted on black cardstock and then on kraft card stock embossed with the 3D Lumber embossing folder (inked in walnut stain) from Tim Holtz.

My second card was created by layering the papers from Rustic Winter Wishes and matting them on black and red cardstock. The sentiment is a sneak peak of a December kit coming soon!
