Your Kindness

Today's card features a lovely floral digital stamp set called "Your Kindness." I love the sentiment featured on this card --  a kind heart truly does make a person beautiful! (And on the flip side - even the prettiest of faces is dulled by an ugly spirit!)

When I am weak...

I'm back for another guest designer post for Sweet n Sassy Stamps! I was inspired to create the word background because of this beautiful card by Korin Sutherland. Did you notice I also added eyes to the large cactus -- that's one of the fun customizable features of the cactus set!

Here are the stamp sets I used on this card:

Praying

Ok, so maybe you'd never guess it, but this card started out to be a clean-and-simple /one-layer card. But... (sigh)  I just can't seem to create those kind.  I just keep thinking it needs  "one more thing" until it isn't clean and simple any more.

For the background I did second generation stamping with  two different sentiments from Trendy Feathers to create a subtle text effect --- pretty cool, huh?!

Supplies and tools:

BTW - Stamplorations (the company all the stamps and dies on this card came from) is having a Spring Fling with 12 days of inspiration and giveaways - April 1-12, 2019.

It's Cake Time

Here's a bright and fun birthday card I created with Gracie's new "It's Cake Time" digital stamp set.

Ok, so tell me I'm not the only one to complete a card -- look at it for a little bit --- and then rip it all back apart and start over?! Below you'll see the first (well actually my second) attempt at using this image. Problem was: I really wanted the cake image to stand out, but with all the other colorful elements, it didn't. So.....do any of you have to try more than once to "get it right?"

Supplies and Tools:

  • It's Cake Time (Graciellie Design)
  • Prismacolor Pencils
  • White Liquid Pearls
  • Mounting Tape
  • Polka Dot Embossing Folder (The Paper Studio)
  • Phrase Two Dies (Spellbinders)
  • Worn Lipstick / Black Soot Distress Oxide (Ranger)
  • Baker's Twine

Stenciled One Layer Card

Ok, so I'm not very good at creating one layer cards -- but I decided to have another go at it using a Stamplorations stencil to create my background.  Technically, I guess this isn't one layer since I layered the pink panel on a white card front --- but it's pretty close!

Be Authentic

Today I'm sharing a floral card created with Gracie's brand new "Authentic" digital stamp set.

Instead of creating a "traditional" card, I decided to turn the blooms into a gatefold card. I got the idea from this beautiful card by Larissa Heskett who in turn got the idea from someone else!

Spring Tags

I decided to create some tags using this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch, which I reversed to accommodate the direction of my bird.  I had a lot of fun creating my background paper with distress oxides and some mixed media stamps from Stamplorations.

Supplies and Tools:
(Maybe you noticed that the sentiment is stamped darker than the mixed media pieces -- I achieved that effect by stamping first in moonlight white ink and then applying tuxedo black over top. The white ink underneath dulls the black to a gray color. Yay for stamping platforms that make things like that possible!)
