Brown Bear

Since there are five Wednesdays in January we get to do a sketch challenge over on the The House That Stamps Built. Here's the sketch Wendy gave us to work with this month...

As you can see I stuck pretty close to the pattern this time (to make up for the way I stretched the sketch last time - smile!). To get the different shade of brown in my image I used my NEW Tim Holtz stamping platform (YAY for Christmas gifts!). I stamped it first in Vintage Photo, then the outside edges/bottom of the bear in Walnut Stain, and lastly the outside edges again in Ground Espresso.

Supplies and Tools:

  • 3D  Lumber Embossing Folder (Sizzix - Tim Holtz)
  • Distress Ink (Ranger) in these colors:
    • Ground Espresso, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Gathered Twigs
  • Walnut Stain Distress Oxide (Ranger)
  • Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders)
  • Mini Holiday Greens Dies (Sizzix - Tim Holtz)
  • Phrase Dies (Spellbinders)
  • Repeat Impressions Stamps:

Sweet Love

Today's card was super quick and easy to whip up using two of Graciellie Design's recent releases. I used the Sweet Love Digital Paper Pack along with it's coordinating Sweet Love Digital Stamp Set.

The only other supplies I used on this card were Prismacolor Pencils, a few sequins, a bit of clear glitter, and a few splashes of acrylic paint.
I almost felt "guilty" when I finished this card because making something this bright and happy shouldn't be so quick and easy - but it is when you use digital papers!

Let It Snow!

Today I have a fun snow themed card for you in pinks and browns. When I was gluing my sentiment on,  I accidentally smudged some brown ink on the embossed background. Since I didn't feel like starting over, I diluted some distress oxides and created a spatter effect. Fun fix for my whoopsie!

Supplies and Tools:
These colors of Distress Oxide (Ranger) - Worn Lipstick/ Walnut Stain
Picked Raspberry Distress Ink (Ranger)
Sponge Daubers
Pearls
Alphabet Punches
