I got the idea for punching the sides of my card with a border punch
from this lady's blog post. I think it adds a lot to the card and gives it a "softer" feel. I also used a "new to me" technique on this card --- stamping on vellum and coloring the back of it with markers. I used embossing powder to make the image stand out and then turned it over and colored the back with my Bic markers. Really liking how it looks on the card....come back next week for a masculine card using the same technique!
Supplies used:
- White/Pink Cardstock
- Victoria Embossing Folder (Provo Craft)
- Vellum
- White Embossing Powder
- Bic Markers
- Stamps
- Flower - Creative Stamping
- Leaves - Creative Stamping
- Sentiment -??? No marks on stamp
- Scallop Circle - Circle Nestabilities
- Small flowers - leftovers from using my MS Bloom Dots punch
- Gauzy pink ribbon

The cards you have here on your page are too cute. Thanks for visiting my blog and showing some love to my Valentine's cards. Based on what I have seen, I am sure that your daughter has some pretty awesome cards to hand out.
What a beautiful card, and I love the velum flower! Thanks for linking up!
This is gorgeous! I have a bunch of vellum sitting around here, so I should give this a try. I really like the white embossing powder contrast - it's perfect!
