Paper Funday Guest

I'm honored to be guest designing for The Paper Funday Challenge this month where the theme is Cute or Creepy. I chose cute and created this fun little pumpkin shaped card using oval dies.

To create the card I die cut 5 ovals from white card stock and stamped two different plaid stamps from Texture Tiles 4 on them in Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and assembled them to create a pumpkin shape. I traced the shape onto white cardstock and fussy cut to create my pumpkin shaped card base. The flowers were stamped on mixed media paper and colored with Arteza Real Brush Pens. A burlap ribbon stem and white paint splatters complete this fun little autumn card.

Guest Designing for A Cut Above

I'm honored to be guest designing for the June Challenge at A Cut Above. This month's theme is "Anything Goes." Create a project using at least 1 die cut and come play along!

I used the big perspective butterfly from Tim Holtz as the main feature on my card and added some flourishes, Petaloo flowers, and a die cut sentiment to accent it. To make the sentiment stand out just a little bit more, I added white polka dots with a gel pen.

Summertime

I'm back with another card featuring Papertrey Ink's May Release. This time I combined their Elegant Edges die with the Frozen Delights stamp and die set.  The background was created by ink smooshing distress inks on mixed media paper and then die cutting and layering them to form a sunrise.

Papertrey Ink May Release

I'm so honored to be guest designing for Papertrey Ink's May release. Today's card features their newest Into the Blooms stamp set. I die cut the flowers from mixed media paper and colored them with my Arteza Real Brush Pens. I added white paint splatters and tiny pearls to them before adhering them around the die cut Scripture.
There's a fun Instagram Hop today, so be sure to visit my page and click on the above card for all the details.

Supplies and tools:

My second card features their newest hot foil plate and fun new Suited for Summer stamp/die set.

I'm back with another card featuring Papertrey Ink's May Release. Today's card features a new hot foil plate. Since I don't have a hot foiling machine, I decided to use the plate to create a letterpress effect. This time I used watercolor paper and turned it over so the design was raised instead of indented. I created a messy watercolor look using my Arteza Real Brush Pens, and added a little collage of fun images from this month's release.

Chamomile - Giveaway!

I'm back with another collaboration post for Altenew. This time I'm featuring their Paint-A-Flower: Chamomile stamp set and the gorgeous Luxurious Motifs 3D Embossing Folder. I embossed a piece of bright yellow card stock and then lighting inked over the raised design with white pigment ink. The floral tea cup was stamped on watercolor paper in waterproof ink. To color the image, I scribbled the markers on my glass mat, picked it up with a waterbrush pen, and applied it to my image. I used a white gel pen to add the white polka dots.

💗 I have a second $25 gift card to Altenew to give away. See my Instagram account for all the details.

The Color Throwdown Challenge #770

As the featured stamper from challenge number 768, I'm honored to be guest designing for the Color Throwdown Challenge today. The colors for this week are white, black, dark green and yellow green. I had fun pulling out a bunch of Tim Holtz products to create this wintry cathedral window scene.

I created a background for it by ink smooshing three shades of green distress ink on mixed media paper and generously splattering with white acrylic paint. The flower and all the greenery where cut from mixed media paper and colored with distress inks and Arteza Real Brush Pens. The window was cut from black card stock and dry brushed with white gesso. I layered the window on a thin piece of cardboard to give it a chipboard feel.

 Supplies and Tools:

  • Cathedral Window Bigz die (Tim Holtz - Sizzix)
  • Funky Wreaths Dies (Tim Holtz - Sizzix)
  • Festive Bouquet Dies (Tim Holtz - Sizzix)
  • Arteza Real Brush Pens
  • Handwritten Music Overlays digital paper (Digital Curio)
  • White Acrylic Paint Splatters
  • White Gesso
  • These colors of Distress Ink (Ranger):
    • Rustic Wilderness, Shabby Shutters, and Peeled Paint

Try it on Tuesday - Keep it Simple

I'm honored to be guest designed for the Try it on Tuesday Challenge today. Their theme this week is "Keep it Simple." When I want to create a card quickly (and simply), I gravitate to my Graphic 45 paper pads since everything already matches and I can usually whip something up in a few minutes. (This card can be created in 5 minutes or less).
