Easter Faithdex

I'm up on the Stamp Simply blog with this Easter themed faithdex card. I started by stamping the eggs from Easter is for Jesus on watercolor paper in four different colors of distress oxide. I inked around the edges with both vintage photo and picked raspberry distress ink. The bunny was stamped on mixed media paper and colored with Arteza Real Brush Pens. I added three pretty trims across the bottom and a bull clip with burlap ribbon and a tiny heart to the top corner.

Give God Your Weakness

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength

of my heart and my portion forever."

Psalm 73:26

I have another faithdex card to share with you today. This one features the NEW Hummingbird Wishes, Sitting Pretty, and Lovely Wreaths sets from Creative Worship Stamps.

To create the background I ink smooshed two colors of distress oxide (peacock feathers & peeled paint) onto a piece of white card stock and inked around the edges. I stamped the Messy Marks Background over top before adding the birds and vines. I colored in the vines with an Arteza Real Brush Pen and added white splatters.

The window was cut from black card stock and I added a cheescloth curtain and vellum window before adhering my wreath and hummingbird nest.  Shop the current NEW RELEASE here.

More Than Sparrows

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." Matthew 10:29-31

Love God, Love Others

“'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Matthew 22:36-39

Today I have a set of Faith dex cards to share with you. I made one for the daughter of a friend (she's creating a collection for her) and duplicated it for my own set.
I love using digital paper sets for projects like this because everything matches and you can create multiples just by printing a second set!

After I die cut the layers of hearts, I used my sewing machine to stitch down the center and hold them all together. I layered that on a piece of cardboard to make it more sturdy before adding it to the card.

He Has Risen

"On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; he has risen!" Luke 24:1-6
I'll never be able to comprehend the amazing love that led my Savior to the cross, where He exchanged my brokenness for His righteousness, but my heart responds with worship on this Easter Sunday morning. His grace has changed my life!

To create this faith dex card I randomly stamped the Tim Holtz roses stamp in vintage photo distress ink on watercolor paper. Next, I stamped some music in the same color and inked all the edges. I hot glued some lace and burlap ribbon across the bottom of my card for added texture and interest. The butterfly was die cut from mixed media paper and inked with broken china & cracked pistachio distress oxide with just a touch of vintage photo on the edges. The swirls were cut from kraft card stock and inked with vintage photo distress ink to darken them up a bit. Some Prima flowers and a Scripture complete my project.

Gentle Savior

"A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;" Isaiah 42:3

I don't know about you, but I am so grateful for a Savior who is attracted to hopeless cases, never gives up on the floundering, cares about the broken, and pours out tender mercies on those crushed in spirit. Run to Him, my friend; you will find Him waiting with arms open wide ready to bring grace, mercy, healing, restoration, and forgiveness.

🌸Prayer: Father, help my life better mirror the love of my gentle Savior.

Do Everything in Love

"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love." 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

God's love flowing through us:

  • turns self-righteousness into humility
  • replaces criticism with grace
  • shows compassion instead of disdain
  • make us teachable and not dogmatic
  • tempers correction with kindness
  • gives people the benefit of the doubt
  • compels us to be generous with our resources
  • builds bridges instead of walls
  • recognizes the immeasurable worth of every living soul
ðŸ“ŒQuote: “He said 'Love…as I have loved you.' We cannot love too much.”—Amy Carmichael.

His Strength for our Weakness

"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Let's give our weaknesses to God. Who knows maybe He wants to use them to:

  • humble our hearts and keep us from thinking more of ourselves than we should
  • bring God glory when others see our patient endurance of suffering
  • root out self-sufficiency and cause us to depend on God daily for strength to overcome
  • honor the Lord when we offer God a sacrifice of praise in spite of our handicaps
  • start a ministry that endeavors to ease the suffering of others with the same problem

📌 Quote: "Deny your weakness, and you will never realize God's strength in you." - Joni Eareckson Tada
