Camping - Woodland Birthday Party

A camping themed birthday party for a great-nephew who turned 1 Easter Sunday and his grandpa who turned 50 three days later!
I made this fun camping cake for my nephew and a giant chocolate chip cookie for his grandpa (my brother).
Here's some pictures of the decor that I did for their combined party.
The decorations I made/used for my brother.
My nephew's part of the party:
I made the chalkboard printable and the tent. I covered the "E" with denim and made little hobo bags (with prizes inside) for my three great-nephews out of bandanas.
Here's a closer view of the chalkboard printable I made:

Sock Monkey Shower -- Food/Printables

Here's the menu for the shower food:
Hot Beef Sandwiches
Hot Ham Sandwiches (close to this recipe)
 Fruit Salad
White Chocolate Popcorn w/peppermint
Dark Chocolate Popcorn w/sea salt
Chocolate Covered Strawberries (with a few plain ones for the people with milk allergies).
Here's my trick for getting them to turn out w/out flat sides:
Prop them up to dry on a wire rack w/a toothpick!
Maybe you noticed the little spools with tickets naming each item?
 (Another Hobby Lobby purchase)
I added the red thread and made up some name tags for the food dishes.
Here's a freebie for you to customized and enjoy!
I also made customized napkin rings with the baby's name on them

Sock Monkey Shower - Clothesline

For a background decoration I did a baby clothes line in a monky/red-brown-white theme.
Here are the customized clothespins I made to hang the clothes with:
I painted the pins
Red,
Brown,
White,
before covering the fronts with scrapbook paper (from Hobby Lobby).
In order to find the exact kind of clothes I wanted for on the line I ended up shopping new stuff on ebay!
Thankfully I found some pretty good deals and was very pleased with my monkey themed sleeper/onesie.
Since I ran out of time, I paid Christa (from Sophias Sundries) to custom make my sock monkey hat.
If your interested in making one yourself you can find a FREE pattern (in six sizes!) on the Repeat Crafter Me blog.

Sock Monkey Shower - Cake

I decided to do cupcakes instead of a big cake and in keeping with the sock monkey theme they have monkey faces on them.
Here are links to the recipes I used:
To make their little faces you use:
1 vanilla wafer for the mouth
1 mini vanilla wafer (cut in 1/2) for the ears
2 chocolate chips
1 tube of red icing for the smile
(Note: when cutting the vanilla wafers you can't "chop" down on them - you kind of have to saw them in 1/2 ---otherwise they break into a million pieces!)

Sock Monkey Shower - Favors - Banner

For favors we (my sister-in-law and I) did a candy bar.
I made the personalized banner above the bar - she took care of the candy/jars/favor bags.
Here you can see the burlap wraps and labels she made to go around the jars.
Here's a better view of the favor bags she made up using brown lunch sacks.
(Here's a great tutorial on making them!)
Here's the banner I made using papers from Hobby Lobby
For the monkey in the center I used the free pattern from chickabug blog.
