Faith Dragonflies Printables

Today's card features the NEW Faith Dragonflies Printable and coordinating digital paper pack from Creative Worship Stamps. I did lots of paper layering and fussy cutting. A bit of crochet lace, some sequins, and a few film strip dies act as accents and add texture.

Heavenly Peace

Not everyone will have a "merry and bright" holiday season. Some have lost loved ones, some are struggling with depression or illness, some are worried about their kids or their parents, some are struggling financially, and still others are just overwhelmed and stressed out. Somehow it doesn't quite seem appropriate to send these friends a card that says "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays."

I wanted to create a special set of cards to send to some of them, to let them know I care and am praying for God's comfort and peace to be with them.

I used Diane Noble's Heavenly Peace digital set to create my cards because I love both the peacefully sweet image and the hope-filled sentiment.

All of the printed papers are also from the Heavenly Peace set. The Lined Paper and Graph paper are part of a digital paper set from Etsy.

I used the Dotted Oval dies from Sizzix to cut out the sentiments and the circles were cut with Stitched Circles 2 Die Set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

I used the same image and sentiment on each card, but switched up the papers and layouts so that each one just a little different than the rest.

I hope these cards bring some comfort to the recipients.

Sweet Teddy Bear

Sometimes when I'm not in the mood to stamp and color, I turn to digital images like the ones found in this sweet Teddy Bear digital scrapbooking kit. To dress it up a bit, I added some crochet lace and faux stitching (Sew Many Stitches from SnSS). All the edges were inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and I used a gold gel pen to trace around the circle.

Mini Notebook

The Sweet 'n Sassy November Inspiration Box releases today with the theme "Advent of the King."  I used the Christ the King printable, ink pad, and vine ribbon included in the box to create this fun little notebook. The boxes are selling fast so hurry and grab yours before they're all gone!

Here's a look at the inside of my mini notebook

Each layout has at least one sticker on it and the center fold has two. I used my sewing machine to attach the pages to the cover. The cover is an old book page, and the inside is from a digital paper pack linked below.

60th Anniversary

Today's card was created in celebration of a 60th anniversary! Since that's a milestone that not many people reach, I wanted the card to be extra special. I used a downloadable junk journal kit from an Etsy seller as the foundation and added love-themed sentiments to the pages and tags using Stamp Simply stamp sets.

Here's a close up of the little tags tucked into the pockets.

You Make Me Smile

Happy Memorial Day USA friends.  Today I have a super cute card that features Cocoa Mouse all done up in red, white and blue.

Instead of using my stencil the regular way, I applied ink to it, spritzed it with water, and then stamped it on my paper. Since the stars were pretty easy to line up again, I actually stamped it a couple times to get the blue as dark as I wanted it.

Casting all your care

Today's card features two BRAND NEW digital paper collections from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps - On My Knees and Spring Fling. I used paper from the grungy packs to create a striped background for my card front.

I created a pocket on the front of my card by cutting the top panel at an angle before gluing it down around the edges and adding a bit of crochet lace. I tucked a handmade scripture bookmark in the pocket that I embellished with a bit of crochet thread and a button.

So Sorry for you Loss

I don't usually create multiples of sympathy cards, but this month I've needed three of them within a week's time. To keep it simple, I used some pretty printables from Kate Crafts paired with lace and flowers and created them all alike.

Paper Quilt

There are three NEW coordinating digital paper packs in the Sweet 'n Sassy store this month. I printed papers from two of the packs and created a quilt style background with them. (Note: I always insert the papers into my word program and resize them to A2 sized card stock before I print. This shrinks the design and keeps me from wasting ink on extra paper that I don't need right now.)

After assembling my background design, I spot stamped over it with Going Postal and also embossed the panel with a woven embossing folder. The floral stems were stamped with several shades of distress ink, die cut, and then bundled together with  a ribbon bow.

On Your Special Day

My favorite style of card to create is a vintage shabby chic design with lots of layers and pretty lace. Today's card combines a heart print from the NEW Always Digital Paper Pack with stamped gingham, an old book page, red roses, and crochet lace.  I inked around the edges of the papers and roses with vintage photo distress ink to give them an aged feel. The sentiment was die cut from kraft card stock and inked with gathered twigs distress ink to help it stand out from the background.

The Card Concept - Winter Cocoa or Winter Snow

It's time for another challenge at The Card Concept.

Today's challenge is: Winter Cocoa OR Winter Snow
Everyone is welcome to play along using the colors, the theme,
textures, items, or just anything from the picture as your starting point.

I was inspired by the Winter Snow theme when I created my mixed media card.

I recently started doing some guest design work for Kate Crafts and couldn't resist using a couple of her printables to create a pine themed winter card. Kate gives away a lot of beautiful free printables on her blog and facebook page, so be sure to check her out and follow along.

NEW Digital Paper Packs

There are three NEW coordinating digital paper packs in the Sweet 'n Sassy store today. I printed papers from two of the packs and used them to create this fun Valentine card.  (Note: I always insert the papers into my word program and resize them to A2 sized card stock before I print. This shrinks the design and keeps me from wasting ink on extra paper that I don't need right now.)
I combined my prints with the BRAND NEW Gnome Love stamp set and Love You word dies for a fun Valentine card!

Typewriter Valentine

I'm back with another guest design post for Kate Crafts.  Her Etsy store is full of beautiful printables, so be sure to stop by and check it out. Today I chose to use some of her NEW Valentine printables.

I started by printing off one of her vintage newspaper prints and inking around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I matted this on red card stock to make it stand out against my kraft card front. I printed the typewriter off of one of the 14 sheets of Valentine images and fussy cut it before layering it on a strip of heart paper from her Valentine journal pages. The sentiment is from her Valentine Quotes set. A die cut heart and strip of paper lace complete this card.
