Color Throwdown Guest

I'm honored to have been chosen as the featured stamper of a recent Color Throwdown Challenge and offered the opportunity to guest design this week. The color scheme is for challenge #808 is yellow, pink, and green.

I used printable paper for the background and added a bit of crochet lace. The flowers and leaves were cut from colored card stock and inked around the edges with distress inks. I also used distress inks for the stamp and cancelation marks.

The Card Concept - Hello Summer

It's time for a new challenge over on The Card Concept blog.

Today's challenge is: Hello Summer
Everyone is welcome to play along using the colors, the theme,
textures, items, or just anything from the picture as your starting point.

I was inspired by the starfish and colors when I created my mixed media card.
I'm honored to be guest designer for the Papertrey Ink May Release. Today's card features a new hot foil plate. Since I don't have a hot foiling machine, I decided to use the plate to create a letterpress effect. I inked it up with distress oxide and ran it through my Spellbinders Platinum 6 to create the background on this card.

Summertime

I'm back with another card featuring Papertrey Ink's May Release. This time I combined their Elegant Edges die with the Frozen Delights stamp and die set.  The background was created by ink smooshing distress inks on mixed media paper and then die cutting and layering them to form a sunrise.

My second card features their newest hot foil plate and fun new Suited for Summer stamp/die set.

I'm back with another card featuring Papertrey Ink's May Release. Today's card features a new hot foil plate. Since I don't have a hot foiling machine, I decided to use the plate to create a letterpress effect. This time I used watercolor paper and turned it over so the design was raised instead of indented. I created a messy watercolor look using my Arteza Real Brush Pens, and added a little collage of fun images from this month's release.

          Wonderful Birthday

A friend of a friend commissioned me to create a birthday card for her mom who is turning 95 this month, so I pulled out some of my favorite Papertrey Ink supplies and created a 3D floral card. I also tried (for the 1st time) creating a box envelope so the flowers wouldn't get crushed in delivery. I used this tutorial from Heartfelt Creations.

Welcome back to the first challenge of 2023 at The Card Concept.
          Today's challenge is: Holiday Gatherings
Everyone is welcome to play along using the colors, the theme,
textures, items, or just anything from the picture as your starting point.

I was inspired by the greenery and stars when I created my mixed media card.

I love creating weathered wood backgrounds from cereal boxes, and this time I used gray and white paint. (Click here for instructions.) I used mixed media paper for my flower die cuts, kraft for the pine cones and stars, and green for the pine branches. I added color and depth using distress inks and waterbrush pens.
