The pattern for this purse was in the Klutz book called Knitting. I added the little rose to the front - per my daughter's request. I used this rose pattern except I used a smaller needle and changed the petal size by doing 5 petals dc, 4 petals hdc, and 3 petals sc instead of tr, htr, and dc.

My FIRST knitted project!
If you follow me on Facebook you know that I FINALLY learned how to knit! Special thanks to Christa for telling me about the Continental method of knitting.....it was just what I needed. I can't hold my yarn in my right hand (like the tutorials I was trying to learn off of) -- but instead hold it in my left hand. Once I viewed the Continental tutorials it was a breeze --- so I'm sharing them here with you!

So much fun to learn something new -- just don't look too close or you'll see my mistakes!

Esther this is fantastic! I love how you've learned how to knit. Something I'd love to learn! I have started crocheting and made some little flowers today that I'm going to put on a card soon.
So excited for you! Looks like you're off to an amazing start!
So pretty! I love the colors and the flower is a perfect touch. I have yet to try to knit or do any kind of needle work. My mom crochets and I couldn't ever catch on to the basic chain stitch even. Enjoy your new hobby!
I'm amazed at how fast you've taken off. You've done a great job!
Awesome, Esther. I'm going to try this way and see if I can get the hand of it. What size needles and yarn did you use?
