Baked Macaroni & Cheese

Here's a recipe I altered to please my husband's taste.

Baked Macaroni & Cheese
2 cups uncooked macaroni 
1 block (8 oz) extra sharp cheddar cheese
16 oz. cottage cheese
1 cup milk
8 oz. sour cream
2 large eggs
1/8 to 1/4 cup sugar
salt/pepper to taste

Cook macaroni according to package directions
Combine cottage cheese, milk, sour cream, eggs, salt, pepper, and sugar
Mix into drained macaroni
Shred cheddar cheese and add to macaroni
Place in a greased baking dish
Bake @ 350 degrees for 45 minutes

That is interesting adding sugar to this recipe. I've never done that. Can you taste it?

Jenn, The sugar gives the dish a bit of sweet, but not too much! It's a southern thing -- at least that's the way they fix macaroni around here!

This is different than my mac and cheese, might have to give this one a try. One of the ultimate comfort foods. I add something unusual to mine, a squirt of mustard to the sauce. It zips the mac and cheese up a bit. Thanks so much for sharing this. ~ Abby
