Thankfulness

We live in a self-centered world where many are lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, and where pride becomes a road block to a thankful heart. It's hard to have a grateful heart when we focus on "I, me, my, and mine" and selfishly believe that God owes us something or that we "deserve better than this!"

Most of us find it easy to be thankful when things are going well, but the Bible tells us in (Ephesians 5:20) to be thankful ALWAYS for EVERYTHING! That's a pretty tall order, but it's easier when in humility we realize that the only thing we "deserve" is punishment for our sins, and we remember that the God who controls the universe is also our loving  Heavenly Father. We can trust Him in all things and know that nothing happens to His children that is outside of His will or care.

The colors on this layout were somewhat "ugly" (in my opinion) and I had a hard time coming up with something that coordinated with them. I ended up using some Sweet n Sassy Stamps and two floral project life cards. On the reverse side of my flap I included a poem that Corrie Ten Boom used to quote...

The Weaver
My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me.
I cannot choose the colors
He weaveth steadily.

Oft’ times He weaveth sorrow;
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I the underside.

Not ’til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And reveal the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
In the weaver’s skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned

He knows, He loves, He cares;
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives the very best to those
Who leave the choice to Him.

I would say that you did a great job with the colors given to you, I had not read that poem that is a good one. I did notice at the beginning of my eye trouble that I was all me me during my prayer time, I am usually more for others than myself, but everything was poor me when I have so much to be thankful for and I was just concentrating on this one thing. I do believe this world would be so much better if we had the love each other approach then the me me idea!
