Chalking

It's been over a week since I purchased the Inkadinkado set (of five) called Utopiary (for $5 at Michaels - using a coupon of course).
I finally got a chance to try one out.
I used a chalking technique that I learned some time back.
Here are the results...

Here's how to re-create this effect:
  1. Ink birdbath stamp with Versa Mark pad and stamp the image on cream card stock
  2. Place oval (circle) template over the image
  3. Using a cosmetic wedge and chalk fill in the oval (circle)
  4. Remove template, mat with coordinating card stock, and affix on card.
  5. Tie a matching ribbon around the card front
I used the same chalking technique for the sentiment at the bottom.

I tend to keep adding things to my cards to fill them up...

... sometimes I have to remind myself that clean and simple can be nice too!

I love that! I've used chalks with VersaMark before, but I never saw the oval/circle idea. It's beautiful, and I will certainly be trying it! :)
