September Bulletin Board

Here's an 8 x 8 bulletin board decoration for the month of September -- made in a school theme.
Here's the list of supplies I used on this project...

For the schoolhouse:
  • 201 Paper Piecing Patterns Book (Hot off the Press)
  • DP - Classics (K & Company)
  • Brown ink pad (inked all edges with it)
  • Brown marker (windows, faux stitching around school sign)
  • Red/Cream/Brown Cardstock
  • Paper Crimper (Fiskars) for the roof

For the Tree:
  • DP - Classics (K & Company)
  • Brown Cardstock
  • Paper Crimper (Fiskars) - tree trunks
  • Brown ink (inked over trunks)
  • D'vine Swirls Embossing Folder (Provo Craft) - tree top
  • Green ink (inked over embossing)

 For the sun:
  • Cut two circles with Circle Nestabilities (the middle one is two sizes smaller than the larger one)
  • Orange ink - inked edges
  • Scissors  - cut notches around outer circle
  • Dimensional - popped the center up just a bit
For those cotton white clouds in the blue sky:
  • Cloud templates from Birds Cards
  • Blue chalks (used the clouds as a mask and chalked blue chalk all over the sky)
  • Snow Writer (traced around the outline the clouds)
  • White flock (filled in the inside of the clouds with)
 Scripture in the green grass
  • Computer generated scripture
  • DP for grass - ATD Harvest (Momenta)
  • Chalks (brushed green/brown lightly over grass)
  • Green Ink (inked the edges of those rolling hills with)
I also used:
  • 1 piece of notebook paper (the whole scene is made on this)
  • Red Cardstock (mounted the notebook paper on)
If this looks like it took a little bit of time it's because it did!  It was fun though --- I enjoy paper piecing and enjoy the results even more -- it's always worth it in the end.
    Happy September Everyone!
