This pedestal is the ugly brown thing on the left of the before picture below. I got it at a thrift store for something like $1.49 (or was it 98 cents?).
A little pink paint did wonders towards transforming it into a "item of beauty."
It was my 8-year old daughter who noted that it looked something like a bird bath and that gave me the idea to put this cute little ceramic bird (50% off at Michael's) on the top and surround it with some pink/clear "pebbles."

Oh, that's lovely! Pink did wonders for that pedestal, and M was brilliant in thinking of it as a bird bath. Very, very cute!!
Verrrry tweet! ( hahah I slay me!)... really don't you just love it when you can look at something and see something so much MORE in it.. Not exactly like Michaelangelo 'seeing" David in the marble.. but satisfying none the less!
Good job!

What a clever idea. If someone told me that something looked like a bird bath, I wouldn't see it. You go girl. Once you decked it out, I can now see that it looks like a bird bath. I love it.
Pink is way better than brown. Very beautiful!
Thanks for stopping by DIY Addict! As you can tell from my craft room walls, I LOVE PINK, this project is too cute!
superb
Love the idea. It's neat that the bird has roses on it to match some of the others decorations. Morgan would love it. She's quick to tell me, "Pink is my favorite color." A girly tomboy!
Cute items!!!
