My friend Pam (from Our Sheltering Tree) sent me a link on facebook last week for making Chalkboard Notecards.
I knew (almost immediately) who I wanted to make them for and set to work creating.
The tutorial says you can use plain black paint -- but since I already had chalkboard paint I just went ahead with that.
I found that you can also use plain black cardstock -- I think it would look nice cut out in a "fancy" shape and glued to the front of the card.
I finished the 1st card as an example for the recipient - the rest are blank for her to decorate how she likes.
I made two in each design.
Here they are all tied up and ready to gift!
The tag is just plain black cardstock w/instructions in white pencil on the back.
I gifted these to a friend going through a tough time - along with a plate of homemade brownies!
Supplies used:
- Kraft Cardstock
- Chalkboard Paint
- Chalk
- Misc. Paper Scraps
- Pink/Purple/Blue Crochet Thread
- Punches
- Square punch (to make banners)
- Flower
- Butterfly
- Heart

Thanks for sharing these and leaving me a comment that you tried my tutorial! Yours turned out so so cute! I love that you personalized them with directions and some blank ones for your recipient to decorate herself. Blessings to you!

Woops! I'm so used to having you play along at WAW that I forgot why I was really here. I am super excited to have you share with us at The Kraft Journal, and I really do hope you will continue to share in our challenges. We need talented crafters to join us, and I'm so glad you stopped by to share.
Have a blessed week,
Karen
The Kraft Journal
that is really cool! I must check it out. Teacher appreciation week is not too far.
So wonderful! I have tried the chalkboard technique and had fun, but to turn the card into one is a great idea. I will look for the paint! I have a chalkboard in my studio and love using it, and use Martha Stewarts chalkboard labels on jars. Thank you!!
I think your chalkboard cards are just adorable!

These are just darling ! I love the combination of kraft and the black chalkboard. (fyi we actually sell black chalkboard card stock at Kraft Outlet) Thanks for playing along with us this week at The Kraft Journal!- and reminding me I have that paper, lol !
What a cute idea! I love the idea that the recipient can so easily personalize the cards for the occasion.
Thanks, too, for bringing that small tube of chalkboard paint to my attention. It's been awhile since I browsed the paint section of the craft store; it looks like I'll have to go take a look again.
