Sock Monkey Bags

I made this little sock monkey "purse" to use as a gift bag for my niece when she has her baby boy.
I thought maybe she could use it as a book bag for church (?) when he gets a little bigger.
Since I didn't really have a pattern I made a mini one first --- just to try the idea out.
I lined both of them to add stability and keep things from catching on the yarn that attaches the mouth, ears, eyes etc. It also looks a lot neater and keeps small things from falling through the bag!
If you'd like to make one of your own -- here is the only free tutorial  I found on-line.

Cute bag! I saw the sock monkey bag by Future Girl awhile ago, and I've been wanting to make one myself, but I just haven't gotten around to it. But anyhoo, great job! Sock monkeys are awesome!

I laughed out loud when I saw these. How adorable--as well as your monkey card to take to the hospital.
