Snail Mail Tuck-Ins

I love giving gifts!!
Tucking a little something extra into my snail mail is a fun way to do that!
Some ideas for "tuck-ins" include:
 Ghirardelli Chocolate
Pretty Verse Cards
A favorite recipe
A tea bag
A bookmark
Packet of Flower Seeds

Some of these tuck-ins are are a little bulkier than others and require extra postage because they can't go through the machines.
The postal requirement for regular first class letter is that your envelope can easily slip through the 1/4 inch opening.
I made my own "mail checker" out of a cardboard flap by cutting a 1/4 inch opening in the center.

Oh my goodness, a mail checker! I asked the man at the PO if they sold them. Love all your ideas -- the tea card is amazing! Wonderful and "doable" ideas.

Love ALL these ideas! I spy some Stampin Up! product in the midst of your creations :) I love their products, and although I am not a demo anymore, I still enjoy paper crafting when I can. I love the wonderful ideas you shared of tuck-ins, and the 1/4" mail checker too! :)

I just joined your blog, thanks for joining mine.

I love your ideas. I also love the hole you cut out to check the envelope width, what a great idea. I had the exact issue at Christmas, this would have come in handy.

These are all such beautiful ideas! Great idea to make the mail checker too so you're not disappointed at the post office or your recipient doesn't end up paying the needed postage. I love the birdies on a wire!! Following along.

Fabulous cards! I bet everyone loves getting an envelope from you! Love the nautical blue with the ship- that would be great for a man- so many cards seemed for us ladies-
The "mail checker" is a fabulous idea

Always sweet to get a nice surprise in with a card :) I can't remember where I read it but they said that the opening on the fiskars paper cutter was 1/4 inch wide so I use that to see if my cards are too thick.

Very thoughtful and cute, my friend. I, too, love giving gifts and anytime I send a letter I have to add a little something extra {{smiles}}

Thanks for sharing with Roses of Inspriation. Have a lovely Valentine's Day! Hugs to you!

Thank you for sharing these fun ideas! I enjoy sending "happy mail" to others and might have to create my own "mail checker" too!
