Using this weeks free download from Word Art Wednesday, I created this quilt themed card to use for the Shelter: Postmarked card ministry.
To create the background for this card I die cut twenty octagon shaped pieces from designer paper. After gluing them to a cream colored piece of cardstock, I embossed them. TIP: If you don't want as much depth to your embossed image you can run it through your Cuttlebug a second time underneath the embossing folder to flatten it a bit.
I die cut my word art and then turned the die over and traced around the outside edge and cut it out for a narrow mat for my verse. The inside panel is decorated coordinating stamps and distress ink.
Supplies and Tools:
Hot Pink/Cream Cardstock, Kirby Teesdale Studio (The Paper Studio), Large Octagon Nestabilites (Spellbinders), Labels Four Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Basket Weave Embossing Folder (Darcie), Diamonds Embossing Folder (Sizzix), Simple Life Stamp Set (Echo Park Paper Co.), Word Borders (Hero Arts), Worn Lipstick/Mowed Lawn/Vintage Photo/Broken China Distress Ink (Tim Holtz), Ribbon, Sequins, Free Word Art
