Simple Sympathy

I wanted to experiment with using my Ken Oliver Color Bursts powders as watercolor paints. So, I made a few simple sympathy cards this week to use for the card ministry I belong to.
To create my card:
~ I tapped out a bit of the color burst powder onto my paint pallet.
~ Next, I added a few drops of water and stirred it around.
~ With a small paintbrush, I added the colors to my watercolor paper and heat set.
~ After stamping my image, I splattered a few drops of each color (and some diluted black soot distress ink) on the card front and heat set again.
~ After everything had dried, I added some shadows to the flowers using a watercolor Crayola marker.
For the inside sentiment, I very lightly painted some of the blue and green colorburst on my stamp instead of using regular ink pads.

Supplies and Tools:
Lime Green/ Merlot / Ultramarine Blue color burst (Ken Oliver), Thoughts and Prayers (Stampin' Up), Meadow Stamp Set (Inkadinkado), Sequins, Black Soot Distress Ink (Tim Holtz), Silver Crayola Marker

I've never used the color burst powder but see many others use it. This card is very nice. I love the simplicity of it but yet it's so full of details. Very Nice. Thanks for joining the May challenge at Creative With Stamps. Dorlene DT CWS

Beautiful sympathy card, Esther! Just happens that I need to make 2 this week--thanks for the inspiration! I've never used my Color Bursts that way, but now I want to try it!

Very pretty card. I love the color burst background. I am still trying to figure how to not get a hot mess. I like yours. The flowers are pretty just in one darker color. the sentiment is perfect. I love the message. It's hard to find a good sympathy sentiment. (I don't see our banner theme on your blog by the challenges you entered.. I see you mentioned Creative with stamps.. but you need the banner with the theme /number) Thanks for sharing at Creative with Stamps.
