Mojo Monday and Rolled Roses

Oh my, you should be so proud of me....Not only did I create a clean-and-simple card, but I actually followed a sketch to the "t" and didn't stretch it like I usually do!

I taught a friend how to create rolled roses with a circle punch this week, and I wanted to try making a super-sized one. I traced around the bottom of one of my jar candles to create a larger circle, and just look at how cool it turned out!

Here's a little picture tutorial for anyone who doesn't know how to make
Rolled Paper Roses:

Step 1: Cut a circle (any size)
Step 2: Cut spirals into the center
Step 3: Roll up from the outside edge and glue
(a quilling tool makes it quicker, but you don't have to use one)

Supplies and Tools:
  • Hymn Word Art (Sweet n Sassy Stamps)
  • Crochet Thinlits (Sizzix -Tim Holtz)
  • Garden Greens Thinlits (Sizzix -Tim Holtz)
  • Labels Eight Nestabilties (Spellbinders)
  • Roses Embossing Folder (Tim Holtz)
  • Large Pearl
  • Black Soot Distress Oxide (Ranger)
  • These colors of Distress Ink (Ranger):
    • Hickory Smoke
    • Cracked Pistachio
