Making Eggs from Ovals

Today's card features those adorable bunnies from Springtime Babies again, and a mini tutorial for creating an egg shape using oval dies.

I started out with the elegant blue egg, but then I thought polka-dots would be cute, so I did a green one as well. I can't decided which one I like better. Which is your favorite?

  1. Start with two nesting oval dies and trace around the inside of the largest one
  2. Remove the large one and place the next sized down die over your traced design
  3. Scoot it up till it's slightly above the original design and trace just the top of the die till the lines meet
  4. Cut around the outside edge of your design and you'll have an egg shape

I inked around the edges of my eggs with distress ink to add some depth and added a stenciled design over top in white gesso. Of course I had to use my favorite Texture Tiles to create  plaid backgrounds, after trying several other designs and not being happy with them.

Very clever with making your own egg shape, I love your touch of lace on them, those sweet bunnies and the cross with flowers, I will have to say I do love the green one the most, probably because it is one of my favorite colors.
