Old Fashioned Christmas

I'm up on the Stamp Simply blog sharing this card that features one of the NEW stamp sets in their Vintage Christmas release.

I started by ink smooshing two colors of distress ink onto water color paper. Next, I added white acrylic paint splatters and ink the edges before adding the text background. An upcylced dictionary page and repeat stamping cover the background of my little tag, and the edges are inked in vintage photo distress ink. I added a bit of lace and red cardstock to two corners and a small embossed circled of vellum behind the deer to make it stand out more. A red seam binding ribbon completes the card.

Such a cool technique on your background, love the text tag and the vellum to highlight the pretty colored deer!

Esther: The Vintage Christmas stamp set is a keeper!! You've paired those VC products with the lace, vellum, dictionary page, inking/smooshing/splatters for an excellent woodland theme card! Thanks for creating and sharing for FQCB #57! --Becca S

It does have an 'old fashioned look' - rich colours and layers - really gorgeous. Thanks for joining in at Inkspirational.
