Chocolate Biscotti

One more "tea-themed" gift for giving......

Chocolate Biscotti
2/3 c. (4 oz) semi sweet or dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sugar
2 to 2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Melt chocolate and butter together.
Beat eggs and sugar 2 minutes.
Add chocolate mixture and vanilla.
Mix in the flour, cocoa, baking powder, an salt till combined.
You will have soft (but not sticky) dough.
Divide dough in 1/2, form each 1/2 into a long log about 1/2 inch thick
 Place on greased baking sheet.
Brush with beaten egg white.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven, reduce heat to 275 degrees.
Let biscotti cool.
Slice into 1/2 inch pieces.
Arrange slices on baking sheet and bake 10 minutes on each side.
Drizzle with melted white chocolate.
Optional add-ins:
nuts
chocolate chips
craisins
other fruit

Dunk in your coffee or tea

Is there anything better than a book and a biscotti? I love them with macadamia nuts. I will have to try this recipe.
