Recycling Christmas Cards

Today I'm sharing a great way to recycle all those pretty Christmas cards you receive each year and can't bear to throw out, but also don't have room enough to save forever.
Here's a great solution: Make them into pretty gift tags to use on packages/food gifts/etc.
For these fun tags I used the Scallop Nestabilities
Blossom II Nestabilities
 Scallop Square Nestabilities
These pieces are just cut out with scissors -- waiting to be recycled into a handmade card this season!
Punch a hole -- add a "To:" and "From:" and your set to go.
More ways to recycle Greeting Cards:
  1. Make Them into Gift Boxes (these use new unused - extra - cards you might have)
  2.  Several Fun ideas here -- tags, ornaments, etc.
  3. A journal made from cards
  4. Greeting Card Placemats for kids
  5. Cute handmade Cards
  6. Pretty Tags
  7. Used as jar toppers in food gifts -- really cute!
  8. Make and Advent Calendar --Another one--- Yet another one
  9. A craft for the kids -- make a house out of old cards
  10. A Christmas Garland
  11. This snowglobe card would be a great way to use old Christmas cards!

I've been having fun following all these links. I had a couple of your tags left from last year to use, too.

What a clever and green idea! I love it. I always feel bad getting rid of old cards. I keep those that are made for me, but the others can't be all saved. I will do this with this years cards. Thanks for inspiring as always.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your post came just in time. I have no idea why I didn't think of this on my own, but you just saved me a lot of pain running to the store and a few dollars paying for tags to add onto my gift bags this year.

You should have one of those "tip jar" icons on the side of your blog for times like this. :)
