Today I'm sharing a mini tutorial for making your own lacy accents out of acrylic caulk and silicone molds!
Step One: Squeeze some caulking into your silicone mold and smooth it out (I used a Popsicle stick)
Step Two: Leave to dry 24 hours
Step Three: Dampen a terry cloth towel and gently rub it over your dry caulk to clean up the image
(Note: The next to last picture shows you the difference between the cleaned up part - on the right - and the part that isn't cleaned yet)
Step Four: Gently peel your lace from the mold and embellish your project!
Note 1. Do NOT use pure silicone caulking -- it will stick to your molds
Note 2. This technique works best in the thin molds - anything too thick would take a long time to dry!
Note 3. These molds are for cake decorating - I found mine on ebay, but you can find several other places as well -- Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Amazon, Walmart.com etc.
As you can see I also made some delicate butterflies and a lacy doily out of my acrylic caulking.
Be sure to come by tomorrow for another fun way to create embellishments for your cards with the deeper silicone molds and don't forget that Friday I'll be hosting a little GIVEAWAY here on my blog!!

Your design and papers matched beautifully. Thank you for blessing us with your artwork here at Word Art Wednesday. We are midway on our current challenge and I hope you join us again. Leaving you with the inspiration of God's Word found in 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 which tells us, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love." Have an awesome week.
