By The Sea

Today I'm sharing two sea themed cards I created using Tim Holtz Distress Inks and an ink blending tool.
These are by no means professional looking, but they were a ton of fun to create!
I currently only have the rectangular ink applicator which doesn't blend as well as the round ones so you can see streaks and smudges. (I have some round sponge daubers ordered and I'll be anxious to try them and see the difference they make.)
I sort of like those streaks and smudges though - I think they add a bit of character to the scene.
Supplies and Tools:
DISTRESS INKS: Gathered Twigs/Walnut Stain/Black Soot/Antique Linen/Salty Ocean/Broken China/Chipped Sapphire/Mowed Lawn/Spun Sugar/Rusty Hinge/Fossilized Amber/Seedless Preserves, Ink Blending Tool (Tim Holt), Shifting Sands (Posh Impressions), Seashell Stamp, Grass Stamp, Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Down By the Seaside (Inkadinkado), Sea Breeze (Inkadinkado), White Gelly Roll Pen, Watercolor Stencil (Tim Holtz), Burlap Stencil (Tim Holtz), Stencil Brushes
UPDATE:
I discovered after I made these that using watercolor paper makes a BIG difference in the blending so I did one more using that.
I used the same inks and tools for this one.....isn't the difference amazing?!

Oh, cool! Thank you for comparing the results of the different papers... I enjoy "experiments" like that. All cards look incredible, however, as I kinda like the smudgy look, too-- looked very watercolor-y. Thanks for linking at SOS again!
