Instead of throwing away the baby wipes I used to clean up my work area after using inks, I save them and dry them out. I decided to use one to create the butterfly on this card.
Step One: Die cut a scallop circle (Spellbinders nestabilities)
Step Two: Cut your circle and half and fold it over - glue the two pieces together in the center
VARIATION: Instead of cutting the circle in half - scrunch it together in the middle and slip it into your mini clothespin
Step Three: Using craft wire, form two antennae and place them behind the baby wipe wings
You can decorate your clothespin with cardstock or paper to match your card or project and decorate your wings with beads, sequins, or even stamp on them!
I chose to cover the top of the clothespin with black patterned paper and I dress up my butterfly with some pretty sequins.
Inside I stamped a few tiny butterflies along the edge and added a sentiment across the bottom.
Supplies and tools:
Watercolor paper, Merlot Color Burst, Music Background Stamp (Stampin' Up), Embroidered Lace Deep Edge Punch (Martha Stewart), Mini Clothespin, Baby Wipe, Sequins, Wire, Hello Sentiment (Momento Die), Definitions (Stampabilities), Picked Raspberry and Black Soot (Distress Ink), Victorian Butterflies (Rubber Stampede), Scallop Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Glue, Glitter
I'd love to see how you upcycle things so stop by the CURRENT CROPSTOP CHALLENGE and link up your creations that use products from companies carried in the Cropstop store! Hope to see you there....
