Today's Challenge (over on The House that Stamps Built) is Designer's Choice. Donna picked "Single Layer Card" as the theme for this week.
I have to admit this one was a real challenge for me! I'm one of those card makers that likes to add layers and embellishments, but it was a lot of fun creating outside my normal "comfort zone."
To create this card:
- Stamp and mask off 708-K, Rebecca and 2704-H, Sailboat
- Color your background with watercolor paints (I used a set from Sonnet)
- Stamp 1507-J, Grass Border in Tuxedo Black Ink (Memento
- Free hand some flower stems with a sharpie marker
- Remove masks and color your images (and flowers) with Prismacolor pencils
- Blend with Q-tips and baby oil
- Stamp the sentiment 1905-I, Be strong . . . in black ink

How pretty - love the beautiful scene you created with Rebecca - reminds me of so many books that I have read. One layer cards seemed to be a challenge for everyone, so glad we had this challenge.
You have created a wonderful summertime scene, love the coloring too! I am with you, I love layers so one layer cards are hard for me also!
This is gorgeous, so many fabulous details on one layer! One layer cards are not in my comfort zone either, that is why I picked this for the amazing inspiration of my teammates!
Wonderful one layer scene, Esther! Your colors are so bright and cheerful.
Beautiful!! Your scene works with that Rebecca image perfectly!! And what a great sentiment to pair with it!
I'm such a romantic, and your card makes think of a book cover and now I want to read the book...lol. Perfect detail and beautifully done, Esther!
