Autumn Love

It's time for a new challenge over on The House that Stamps Built.  This week Laurie picked "Anniversary" as the theme. I decided to create an neutral toned card that I'll be needing a little later on this fall.  It gave me a chance to try out Autumn's fun idea of adding cotton stems to a card. (I've made a homemade cotton boll wreath before, but never would have thought to include them in card-making!)

To create my card I:
  • Stamped 5015-P, Postcard in Walnut Stain Distress Oxide (Ranger) in the bottom corner of my manila card front
  • Lightly stamped 10201-W, Flower Power Background in Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger)  over the entire panel
  • Inked all the edges with Walnut stain oxide
  • Dipped the edges in Versamark Watermark ink and then in Pirate Gold embossing powder -- heat set
  • Created a frame using the Labels Four Nestabilities (Spellbinders) and inked it with walnut stain oxide
  • Created crinkled ribbon using Cream Seam binding (Hug Snug) and walnut stain oxide
  • Die cut leaves, stems, and a bird from Funky Florals #1 (Tim Holtz - Sizzix) and Meadowbird Branch (Memory Box - Poppy Stamps) dies
    • inked them with brown distress ink
    • added the cotton bolls
  • Die cut the sentiment from 'Love This" (Echo Park) dies, added versamark and pirate gold embossing powder, and heat set

This is gorgeous!! I had to look hard to see the flower power background, but in real life I bet it beautiful and subtle! Love the Labels 4 dies; probably my favorite label die.
