Stained Glass Window

It's time for our Wednesday challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we have an inspiration board for you. This challenge is a fun cross between a photo challenge and a color challenge. You can choose to be inspired by the colors, the photograph, or both! As soon as I saw this board I thought of a stained glass window....so that's what I created!

I embossed my window on vellum paper and colored the reverse side with markers. After I finished it reminded me of a window die I have. It didn't quite fit the die exactly, so I cut the window apart and attached each pane of glass to the back of my window die. I got to thinking....you could also use Repeat Impressions 9402-U, Quilt Background to fill in the window panes if you wanted to.

Supplies and Tools:
  • Repeat Impression Stamps:
  • Vellum Paper
  • Touchfive Markers
  • Versamark Watermarker Ink
  • Black Embossing Powder
  • Garden Greens Thinlits (Sizzix - Tim Holtz)
  • Tiny Tattered Florals Dies (Sizzix - Tim Hotlz)
  • Brick Embossing Folder (The Paper Studio)
  • Distress Oxides in these colors (Ranger)
    • Black Soot, Worn Lipstick, Dusty Concord
  • Peacock Feathers Distress Ink (Ranger)

What a beautiful stained glass window - and to cut each panel out and stick back in - tedious for sure. This was a difficult challenge for me, but have enjoyed seeing what everyone has done with it.
