Mini Journal

I have something different to share today.  Inspired by two of my IG friends (Autumn and Angela), I got together with a couple friends this week and we created mini journals to fill with Scripture and inspirational thoughts. This first layout is based on these two verses that are favorites of mine:

Micah 6:8 "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." (NIV)

Psalm 116:2 "Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!" (NLT)

Autumn was generous enough to share her process with me and I used it as a basis to create my journal:

  • Cut a cover from card stock measuring 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches
  • Score at 4 1/4 and 1/8 inch on either side of that and fold to create the spine
  • Cut pieces of designer paper to measure 8 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches
  • Score these pieces at 4 1/8 inch and fold to create the pages
  • Tuck bits of book pages, glassine bags, paper bags, dictionary pages, notebook paper etc. between the pages
  • Bind using the pamphlet stitch
