It's time for a new challenge over on The Card Concept blog.
Today's challenge is: Hello Summer
Everyone is welcome to play along using the colors, the theme,
textures, items, or just anything from the picture as your starting point.
I was inspired by the starfish and colors when I created my mixed media card.
I'm honored to be guest designer for the Papertrey Ink May Release. Today's card features a new hot foil plate. Since I don't have a hot foiling machine, I decided to use the plate to create a letterpress effect. I inked it up with distress oxide and ran it through my Spellbinders Platinum 6 to create the background on this card.
Supplies and tools:
- From Papertrey Ink:
- Shoreline Finds Hot Foil Plate
- Vintage Postage Stamps (Papertrey Ink)
- Vintage Postage Dies (Papertrey Ink)
- Silver Wire
- Salty Ocean Distress Oxide (Ranger)
- Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink
- Arteza Real Brush Pens

Beautiful, Esther! I love how you used the foiling plate with ink to create the background. Great idea and I will keep that in mind. Pretty flowers too! Thanks for sharing at the Double D, "Pick Three" Challenge.
Your postage stamps work so well as frames! Such a pretty and decorative background too. Thanks for participating in our challenge at Inkspirational.
The inked foil plate made a great impression (pun intended) on your background, Esther, and made a great place for your postage flowers. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Time Out.
