Mother's Day

Here's my last Mother's Day card -- the one for my mom.

Supplies used:
  • Purple cardstock
  • Free postcard clipart
  • Doily
  • Gingham ribbon
  • Build a lilac die (Sizzix)
  • Beads (centers of flowers)
  • Butterfly punch (large and small)
  • Beads (butterfly antennae)
I made my own paper for the flowers using my homemade glimmer mist.  I misted white, purple, and pink paper with pink and purple glimmer mist. Then I dried it using my heat gun and cut out the flowers with the build a lilac die.
Here's a closer view of the hydrangea....
Here's the poem I included inside my card

A Cathedraled Life

By: Thomas Fessenden

You wrote no lofty poems
That critics counted art,
But with a nobler vision
You lived them in your heart.
You carved no shapeless marble
To some high soul design,
But with a finer sculpture
You shaped this soul of mine.
You built no great cathedrals
That centuries applaud;
But with a grace exquisite
Your life cathedraled God.

What a lovely card - and the poem is beautiful. I am going to check out your home made glimmer mist.

Such a stunning card. I love your flowers and the use of the doily adds to the vintage feel. That is an awesome poem as well.
