China Tea Cup

Today's tea themed card for the  Coffee Lover's Spring + Summer Blog Hop features a beautiful China Teacup stamp from Stampendous. I've had this stamp in my collection for quite a while, but I don't think I've ever used it. It was my daughter's idea to emboss it in gold, and I LOVE how elegant that made it look!

To create my card I:
  • Inked up my Mosaic Cuttlebug Embossing Folder with Versamark Watermark Ink
    • Inserted a piece of lavender card stock and ran it through my Cuttlebug
    • Applied Gold Embossing Powder to the paper and heat set
  • Inked up the edges of my panel with Versamark Watermark Ink, dipped them in Gold Embossing Powder, and heat set
  • Stamped the China Tea Cup (Stampendous) in Versamark Watermark Ink added  Gold Embossing Powder and heat set
    • Colored in the design with Touch Five Markers and fussy cut my cup
  • Die cut a doily from white card stock using the  Hello Doily die set (Sizzix)
    • Cut the doily in half and layered it under my cup
  • Created a pretty bow using Hug Snug Seam Binding and Shaded Lilac/Seedless Preservers Distress Ink (Ranger)
  •  Added a few lines of steam with White Opal Liquid Pearls

Your daughter had a very good idea! I love it in the gold and with soft lavender to go with it. Looks very antique. The old stamps are sometimes the best. Very pretty! Thank you so much for sharing with us at Double D, and good luck in the Coffee Lover's blog hop!

Your daughter had a great idea to emboss the cup in gold, it has great detail and like how you carried that to the background, I so love your steam you added, tops it off perfectly!
