Sunset Get Well

It's time for our Wednesday challenge over at The House That Stamps Built.

This week we have an inspiration board for you.
This challenge is a fun cross between a photo challenge and a color challenge. You can choose to be inspired by the colors, the photograph, or both!

I chose to be inspired by both the colors and the swiped design.  Here's how I created my lakeside sunset scene:
  • I started with a piece of water color paper and swiped these colors of Distress Crayon across it:
    • Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, Mermaid Lagoon, Faded Jeans
  • Next I dipped my finger in water and rubbed the crayon to blend the colors
  • Along both sides  I stamped 2719-K, Lg Pine Tree in Tuxedo Black Ink, and added a piece of torn black cardstock along the bottom to form the land
  • Using the Blossom stencil (Tim Holtz), I applied a bit of white acrylic paint to the sky for added dimension
  • Next I die cut a large white circle to form the moon and swiped a bit of diluted pumice stone distress crayon over the top
  • I added some die cut branches from the Holiday Greens Thinlits (Tim Holtz) to either side of the sky
  • The sentiment comes from Die-Versions - Everyday Compliments and is added under a silhouetted deer (Deer Trio - Impression Obsession)
  • The inside features a sunset canoe ride using this Repeat Impressions Stamp: 2905-G, Canoeing

  • For my blog readers: Enjoy the 10% discount code to the Repeat Impressions Store posted on the sidebar
  • There's a new challenge every week over at  The House That Stamps Built
    • you don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps to link or win
  • One lucky person will win a $25 Repeat Impressions Gift Certificate on the first Wednesday of every month

Oh for sure I'm getting out the distress crayons (after I get my Cinderella chores) done. And you get to get messy fingers - this scene is beautiful and the blending of the colors awesome. Once again you nailed this challenge.

What a gorgeous creation, Esther! Love how you made the background!
Yes, I did know CS moved, but I seem to not use products they carry most of the time. Since Spellbinders is OK, I added my doily card. Thanks for the sweet comment!
