Today I'm sharing a card I created "just for fun" to play along with several of my favorite challenges. Would you believe I had three little kids climbing all over me and very intrigued with die cutting, embossing, sanding, and stamping while I made this? Me neither! Maybe I should have them over more often when I make cards since this is one of my favorite things I've ever created! (smile!)

I created my weathered background using the same technique I shared in THIS POST and the following supplies:
  • Cardboard
  • Martha Stewart Scoring Board (scored every 1/2 inch)
  • Elemer's Glue
  • Hickory Smoke Distress Paint (Ranger)
  • Vintage Photo Distress Ink (rubbed over the paint when dry)
  • Picket Fence Distress Stain (rubbed over portions of the wall)
  • Sandpaper

Next I:
  • Die cut a window using the Conservatory Window Die from Sizzix
    • inked it with Picket Fence distress stain and sanded the edges
  • Die cut shutters using the Memory Box Shutter die
    • inked them with  Picket Fence distress stain and sanded the edges
  • Printed a watercolor bird from Mitrushova Art
  • Added some leaves die cut with Romantic Vines (Spellbinders die), embossed with the Victoria embossing folder from Cuttlebug, and inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink (Ranger)
  • Added a few branches using the Fall Foliage Thinlits (Tim Hotlz)
  • Created crinkle ribbon using seam binding and Antique Lined/Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink (Ranger)
  • Using two small flower punches and some pearls I added floral accents
  • I stamped a sentiment from the Birdies stamp set (Dina Wakley) in Walnut Stain Distress Oxide -- cut it out with a Tag Die from Provo Craft and added a piece of burlap string

Gorgeous, I love background and your shutters are so cool with the window. The bird is so life like, I do like how you have him nestled in the ribbon and pretty flowers, cute sentiment tag!
