Country Tea

As I mentioned in several preceding posts, I didn't plan to make loads and loads of coffee/tea themed cards this week, but.........when I saw a couple really cute country themed ones in the gallery Wednesday, well, I knew I wanted to add one more to the line-up this week! Still several things I didn't have time to try --- maybe next time!

To create my card I:
  • started with a piece of notebook paper and sponged over it with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide (Ranger)
    • stamped the Postcard stamp (Repeat Impressions) in opposite corners in the above ink and added some stenciling (Blossom - Tim Holtz) to the other two corners
  • matted my notebook sheet on designer paper from Complete Boy (My Mind's Eye)
    • (all the designer paper on this card is from that same paper pack)
  • stamped the ruler stamp (unknown - I bought it unmounted at a stamp convention years ago) on designer paper, trimmed, and glued it across the top
  • created two banners from the same dp pack and glued them to the right side of the card
  • added a strip of white lace across the front and two little buttons to the top left corner
  • cut a piece of kraft cardstock into a rectangle, stamped it with the Crackle Background stamp (Stampin' Up) and distressed the edges
  • Cut a teacup and saucer from designer paper, added a strip of eyelet trim (Martha Stewart border punch), and a punched flower with a button center
  • added faux stitching around the saucer with a Sharpie Marker
  • created a crinkle ribbon bowwith Hug Snug seam binding and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide (Ranger)
  • stamped the sentiment (Wordsworth) in Tuxedo Black Ink (Memento)
  • mounted the entire panel on a kraft card base
