Woodland Fairy

It's time for our Wednesday challenge over at The House That Stamps Built.

This week we have an inspiration board for you.
This challenge is a fun cross between a photo challenge and a color challenge. You can choose to be inspired by the colors, the photograph, or both!

I chose to be inspired by both sides of the board this month -- the rocks and the colors.
Here's how I created my card:
  • I stamped 1712-P, By the Stream in Versamark Watermark ink on watercolor paper, added black embossing powder, and heat set it
  • Using my Sonnet Watercolors, I colored my scene
  • I cut a large circle (Circle Nestabilities - Spellbinders) in a piece of dark blue card stock and matted my scene behind it
  • I cut a large scallop circle (nestabilities - Spellbinders), cut out the center, and used it to frame my scene
  • I stamped 1507-J, Grass Border in Pine Needles Distress ink (Ranger) across the bottom of my card front
  • I die cut the sentiment from the Hello Doily Die Set (Sizzix)
  • I punched a butterfly trim border (Martha Stewart) and fussy cut two butterflies to add to my scene
  • The fairy is from Frantic Stamper (Fairy and Flower) and is paper pieced
    • I added two extra sets of wings - one in vellum and one in white card stock
  • To complete my scene I added some purple glitter (Studio G) flowers to the grass and also to the meadow scene

  • For my blog readers: Enjoy the 10% discount code to the Repeat Impressions Store posted on the sidebar
  • There's a new challenge every week over at  The House That Stamps Built

Such a lovely scene and like how you brought it to the outside with the fairy and the flower field, so very sweet, like the pattern on her dress too!

Absolutely gorgeous scene and such a unique design. Everything pops without overwhelming any one element. Perfectly stunning, Esther.
