Krafty Chicks Guest Designer

Hello friends, I have fun and exciting news.....Leanne (from Krafty Chicks Challenge) ask me if I would like to guest design on their blog for the month of July and of course I agreed! They always post such fun challenges, and I enjoy playing along as often as possible.

 Today's Challenge is a Recipe: 1 Square, 2 Ribbons, and 3 Circles

For my circles I made torn paper roses by:
  • tearing pieces of card stock in messy graduating circles
  • inking the edges in distress ink
  • spritzting with water, crumpling into a ball, unfolding, and heat setting
  • re-inking the edges in distress ink and gluing them together from largest to smallest

Note: To see how I created my weathered wood background visit THIS POST (I did change it up a bit by using kraft card stock instead of cardboard and embossing the finished piece with a wood grain embossing folder)

The colour of those flowers is stunning (one of my favourite colours) and your so clever tearing each layer, makes for so much texture. The woodgrain background looks so real and your sentiment goes with our theme perfectly. So very glad you joined us at TIME OUT!
