Hello friends, I have fun and exciting news.....Leanne (from Krafty Chicks Challenge) ask me if I would like to guest design on their blog for the month of July and of course I agreed! They always post such fun challenges, and I enjoy playing along as often as possible.
Today's Challenge is a Recipe: 1 Square, 2 Ribbons, and 3 Circles
For my circles I made torn paper roses by:
- tearing pieces of card stock in messy graduating circles
- inking the edges in distress ink
- spritzting with water, crumpling into a ball, unfolding, and heat setting
- re-inking the edges in distress ink and gluing them together from largest to smallest
Note: To see how I created my weathered wood background visit THIS POST (I did change it up a bit by using kraft card stock instead of cardboard and embossing the finished piece with a wood grain embossing folder)
Supplies and Tools:
- Martha Stewart Scoring Board
- Elemer's Glue
- Hickory Smoke Distress Paint (Ranger)
- Picket Fence Distress Stain - Ranger (rubbed over portions of the wall)
- Sandpaper
- Woodgrain Embossing Folder (Darice)
- Postage Stamp Nestabilities (Spellbinders)
- Sheet Music Stamp (Repeat Impressions)
- Vellum
- These colors of Distress Ink
- Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles
- Ribbon Banners Dies (Spellbinders)
- Bitty Regards (Unity Stamp Company)
- Organdy Swirls Ribbon (Cropstop)
- Large Pearls
- Hot Glue Gun

Love the colors and the music background and how you tied that into the color of those gorgeous flowers. So glad you shared this with us at the Players this week

Such a fun card!! So happy to have you hanging in the "hen house" this month!
The colour of those flowers is stunning (one of my favourite colours) and your so clever tearing each layer, makes for so much texture. The woodgrain background looks so real and your sentiment goes with our theme perfectly. So very glad you joined us at TIME OUT!
Such an elegant, beautiful card! I love all the details here -especially the distressed, shabby chic looking background. The flowers are stunning too! Thank you for joining us at Time Out!
