Peace is not the absence of trouble. It's not a warm, fuzzy feeling or positive thinking. It comes from trusting God and knowing He's in control. So how does the Christian go about getting this "perfect peace?" I think a good starting point is to put aside all of our preconceived ideas of God and study His Word to find out who He really is. After all, how can we really trust someone we haven't taken the time to get to know?
Another way to peace is to follow Philippians 4:6 and offer up our anxieties and desires to Him. We give Him all our conflicts, losses, trials, hopes, dreams, fears, wishes, and goals. We place our confidence in God and depend on Him. Many time this is MUCH easier said than done!
There are things in my life that I have no answers for --- they don't make sense to me -- some of them are painful and hard. In those situations trust has been a choice.
The words of Babbie Mason's song, "Trust His Heart" have come back to me time and again, and have encouraged my heart through some tough stuff.

Such a great addition to your journal, sometimes it is so easy to just give it all to God and other times you just want to help him along with the problem you are going through, like that will help matters. So good to have those reassuring verses on hand to refer too, I keep mine in a special journal but like the idea of them being in a little envelope!
