Mixed Media Background

I pulled out that awesome Simon Says Stamp magnolia branch 3D embossing folder again! This time I created a mixed media background by ink smooshing some distress inks and adding some white paint splatters. After I embossed the flowers, I highlighted them with platinum brilliance ink to make them stand out from the background and add a bit of shimmer.

I don’t know how I didn’t this beauty. The colors and texture of the background is marvelous. I’m sure I would end up with a muddy mess. But I’m going to try this anyway. I’ll need to look into what the difference is between and regular embossing folder and a 3D embossing folder. I love the die cut pieces and of course the main attraction, the butterfly.

Ohhh I love the idea of adding Brilliance ink over the inky embossing. Such a fabulous result! Hugs, Autumn
